Super Radio Network axes Talkin’ Sport

Super Radio Network’s long-running sports program Talkin’ Sport has reportedly been axed, bringing an end to a major part of the network’s sporting coverage.

The program, hosted by Graeme Hughes alongside Brett Papworth and Gav Robertson, has been a fixture of the network’s lineup for more than two decades, with the show launching on Sydney’s 2SM in 2003. It has since been broadcast across the wider Super Radio Network.

The weekday afternoon program covered a range of sporting topics, featuring interviews, analysis and listener talkback.

The reported axing comes amid a period of change for the privately owned network, which operates 47 radio stations across New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory.

It remains unclear what prompted the reported decision, whether the program will be replaced, or what the move means for those involved with the show.
