What’s happening with CRUISE1323?

Well, at least once a month at the end of each Biz Audio episode, I usually ask, what’s happening with Adelaide’s CRUISE1323?

I’ve listened to the station every now and then, and I think there may be a slow GOLD rollout across the station. The Christian O’Connell Show’s “Hour of Power”, was recently launched on the station, weeknights from 5-6PM, which brings the show onto AM in the Adelaide market.

As most of you will know, John Dean departed last year, marking the end of a long journey at the station. Huggy from GOLD1043 moved over to Brekky on 1323, but didn’t make the move to South Australia. He’s currently doing the show from Melbourne, and with the Afternoon’s announcer Bilko, residing on the Sunshine Coast, means that none of the shows on 1323 are local.

You may be asking, why don’t ARN just sell off the station, to someone like SEN or SRN? I still believe (and hope) that ARN have plans for the station after the switch to GOLD1323, maybe even launching a new live and local lineup.

CRUISE has so much potential, and has remained rather steady over the last few years in terms of ratings results. It fills a gap in the Adelaide market, and I hope there’s a bright future ahead on 1323AM.
