Media mogul John Singleton could be considering a return to Sydney talkback radio, with 2SM reportedly emerging as a potential target during uncertainty surrounding the future of the Super Radio Network.

According to The Australian Media Diary, Singleton is believed to be interested in acquiring 2SM, following reports that the Network has been put up for sale amid a family dispute between siblings Despina Priala and George Caralis.

The report suggests Singleton’s interest may be focused on the Sydney talkback station rather than the network’s broader portfolio of more than 40 stations across Australia.

2SM has faced a challenging competitive landscape in Sydney, where Tapt’s 2GB remains a major force in commercial talkback radio. However, the station has a long history in the market and was the final radio home of veteran broadcaster John Laws.

Singleton’s reported interest could signal an opportunity to revive the station’s fortunes and establish a stronger challenge to 2GB, should a deal eventuate.
