The station first launched as 97.3FM in September 2001, before undergoing a major transformation in January 2022 when it was rebranded as KIIS 97.3.
One of the more recent chapters has centred around Robin Bailey and Kip Wightman, who have become closely associated with the station's breakfast offering.
The pair were joined by former Brisbane Broncos star Corey Oates in late 2024, with the show becoming Robin & Kip now with Corey Oates. Oates officially joined the breakfast team in November 2024 following his retirement from the NRL.
The trio's future took an unexpected turn in late 2025 when ARN announced that the breakfast show would finish, with Craig 'Lowie' Low originally announced as the replacement for 2026. However, following feedback from Brisbane listeners, ARN reversed the decision in December 2025, confirming that Robin, Kip & Corey would return to KIIS 97.3 Breakfast in 2026.
The anniversary comes as KIIS 97.3 continues to operate as part of the KIIS network, with the Brisbane station jointly owned by ARN and Nova Entertainment.
